His club coaches were Sue Welsh and Jeff Lowe swimming competitively at Hamilton Aquatics Club where he still holds some age group records. After graduating from Notre Dame High School Bobby attended Rider University.  During his 4 years of swimming at Division 1 Rider, Bobby broke 14 MAAC Conference, University, and Coppola Pool records:  including 100/200 Fly, 200/400IM and 100 Breast stroke, along with multiple relay records as the leader of Riders resurgence in the MAAC Conference.  Bobby graduated with a B.S. in Accounting and has worked in business ever since.  Bobby began coaching assistant for Dean Hutchinson (former standout swimmer at Auburn University where he learned from prestigious coaches Mike Bottom, Michigan University, and David Marsh, SwimMac) at Penn Aquatics before taking over the program as Head Coach in 2011, leading the team to multiple league titles and Middle Atlantic Age Group and Senior Championship top 10 finishes. Bobby comes to XCel after a brief stint as Head Coach of Tri Hampton YMCA instantly transforming a team of 80 swimmers from a Top 50 to a Top 15 Team Power Ranking. Coach Bobby's training philosophy starts with establishing a strong technical foundation in all 4 competitive strokes.
